I know how bad Albany is. I know it better than most. I understand why people are angry. I'm angry. The question is going to be, how do you change Albany, what is the plan for change, and then how do you actually get it done?
There is no dispute that Albany needs to be changed. There is no dispute that the current situation in Albany is untenable. Nobody knows that better than I do.
The Declaration of Independence says when government fails, the people have the right to replace it. Well, New York State government has failed and the people have the right, indeed the people have the obligation, to act.
There was never a war on poverty. Maybe there was a skirmish on poverty.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

Ich habe innerhalb der vergangenen zwei Jahre aus Vorsicht und aus Rücksicht das Folgende nicht gemacht: Ich war nicht in der Uni. Ich war nicht im Ausland. Ich habe kein Museum und auch kein Festival besucht. Ich habe nicht mal eine Person, die ich noch nicht kannte, geküsst oder meinen Geburtstag gefeiert. Ich war verdammt noch mal nicht einmal im Klub, kein Tanzen, Feiern und all das, was ich so vermisse.
